20 weeks and its a BOY!

So last week Ryan and I found out we are having a BOY! We were able to have most of our family together as we shared the news with a video we made (I'm going to try to post it). The whole ultrasound experience was incredible. My mouth hurt from smiling so big for so long, it just amazes me that there is a little baby growing in there. We are feeling him move so much and I just LOVE it! Now that we know he is a he let the decorating began! We got the bookcase, end table, and dresser the other night and ordered the crib yesterday! Ryan even surprised me by getting stated on the paint! I Just can't wait until it is all done and our little baby boy is enjoying it with us!

Weeks 18 &19

Another 2 weeks have past in the blink of an eye! Heck the last 19 weeks have past in the blink of an eye! I can hardly believe that in just a few days we will be able to call our little Chicklit a HE or a SHE! A lot of cool things are happening, not only I'm I getting bigger(which I LOVE!) but the baby is moving around so much more. Ryan got to feel kicks for the first time last week. It was so amazing watching his face as he felt our little one moving around! Just this morning after a coconut milk and whey protein smoothie little chicklit started kicking up a storm, 10 kicks in 2 minutes! I guess he/she liked breakfast! I had a doctors appointment last week and everything looks great! We did had a little scare. Since both of my parents have had blood clots the doctor was worried that I might have a blood clotting disorder. Which would resolve in me having to take shots in my stomach everyday for the rest of my pregnancy. Long story short and a 2,000 dollar blood test later... everything came back negative! I've also gained 5lbs during the pregnancy which I'm pretty sure has gone straight to my face but that's ok its worth it, so I've been told!;)

Week 15!

I really can't believe how fast these weeks have gone! Of course it feels like forever until we get to find out if little Chicklit is a girl or a boy and even farther away until our little monkey(Mimi Renee's nick name for the babe) is here with us! However, looking back it feels like just last week I found out I was pregnant! I remember saying "I can't wait until I look pregnant and feel him or her move" and now a lot of my little kindergartners are coming up to me and asking "Do you have a baby in there?!" as they poke at my belly:) and when I tell them "YES!" their faces light up, I Just love it!! Also, at night if I lay real still on my back I can feel little flutters. It is the most amazing feeling ever and I can't wait until Ryan can feel them too but I know that that to will be here before I know it!

Envelope Date #3

For our third envelope date I planed a romantic night in with fondue! Ryan opened the envelope the first of March but didn't know when we were going to do it. I set it all up in our guest room that way we could eat dinner and I could surprise him with it afterwards!

My Mother-in-law gave me the recipe for the fondue and it is so easy and really good! If you want to try it, here it is:

~ 2Tbs. all-purpose flour
~ 1-1/2 2% milk
~ 3oz dark chocolate(about 2 candy bars), Chopped
~ 3oz milk chocolate, chopped
(I recommend using the Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips!)
~ 2 Tbs. light corn syrup

Directions:
~ In a small saucepan, combine flour and milk until smooth. bring to a boil on medium-high heat; cook and stir for one minute or until thickened. Reduce heat to low. stir in chocolate and corn syrup. cook and stir until melted.
~ Transfer into a fondue pot and keep warm.
~ Yields: 2 cups.

Week 13 and 14!

Well here we are again... 2 weeks have come and gone and I haven't posted! Now that I'm in my second trimester hopefully I will have more energy to post! I have been feeling so much better as far as morning sickness however, bad headaches along with pain in my left hip have started. Even so, I love being pregnant! We had our second doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything is looking good, chicklit's heart rate has dropped from 164 to 150 and I've gained 4 lbs! First time in my life that I haven't minded putting on the lbs;)

11 and 12 week update!

The weeks just keep flying bye, I can hardly believe it! In less then  a week I will be saying good bye to my first trimester and hello to, no more morning sickness, more energy, and my appetite! Hopefully this is not all wishful thinking but only time will tell! Just the other night I swear I felt a little tickle in my belly... it only lasted about 2 seconds but it was something I had never felt before. I don't know if it's possible to feel any movement this early and I haven't felt it since but it was crazy and so unexpected! I can't wait tell I'm feeling it all the time!
