Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! Ryan got Christmas Eve off  which was a BIG deal, he never get holidays off! We did Christmas Eve with my parents and family, unfortunately Tabbi and Chris couldn't be there with us but we know they were there in spirit. We went to church that night which is one of my favorite things about Christmas, I LOVE lighting all candles and I think Bentley did too! Then we spent Christmas day with Ryan's. It was a nice relaxing day spent over eating and opening gifts. I know we over did it as far as gifts go for Bentley but we couldn't resist! I mean it was his first Christmas...

Sorry for the picture overload...But he's just SO darn cute!

3 Months old!

I truly can't believe how fast the time goes! It's such a funny feeling, I feel like he was just born but at the same time I don't remember what life was like before him! He makes everyday tasks so much more difficult but I wouldn't have it any other way! He brings so much joy to our lives and I'm so blessed to be celebrating the miracle of Jesus' birth with our very own little miracle. Momma loves you little Bentley boy!

Tis The Season!

Well, I had been envisioning this wonderful day of picking out a tree and decorating it for some time now but like so many things in life it didn't turn out quite like I was planing!

In my mind:
going up to the mountains and picking out some wonderful perfect tree and cutting it down ourselves! With tons of family picture of us laughing and frolicking in the snow!

 The problem:
Fist of all we don't own a chain saw or an ax. Also Ryan and I have the exact opposite work schedule so unless we wanted to get our tree on the 22 of December it was not going to happen!

What actually happened:
We went to a tree stand on the side of the road which was quite cute however, it was freezing cold and blowing wind! That being said, we were there for probably a total of 3 minutes! There were no cute family pictures or ones of Bentley looking at all the trees. No, he was bundled up in the stroller and the shade pulled closed so he wouldn't freeze to death! The one picture I did manage to get of us I have mascara running down my face because the wind was causing my eyes to water like crazy! To make matters worse AFTER getting the tree put on the roof of the car we went in to pay for it and it was 80 dollars! um yeah I was thinking what the *#@#! are you kidding me! I couldn't believe it, I mean I guess it was our fault to assume that a tree that only lasts a few weeks and is no taller then Ryan would be more then 35 dollars! So trying desperately not to ruin our fun family night with being so mad about paying that much for a stupid tree, we went on to decorate it!

In my mind:
going home and drinking hot cider by fireplace. Decorating the tree together, watching Christmas movies and taking pictures of Bentley by the tree!

The problem:
Well for starters we don't have a fire place! By this time Bentley was cranky and ready for bed! Also all I had in the fridge to drink was pom juice and some soy milk so no hot cider for us!

What actually Happened:
I nursed Bentley and put him to bed. Ryan brought in our over priced tree and started to put it in the stand only to realize that the stand we had was too small! My sweet husband however, knowing that I was already in a bad mood about spending that much money on a tree, jammed it in and made it work! We then pulled out the Christmas lights only to find out that half the strand didn't light up! Luckily I had some others that worked.

Well, it didn't turn out the way I planed but it made for a good story!  Although I grit my teeth every time I think about how much we spent on that dumb tree it does look very pretty!

2 month update!

I can not believe that my little boy is 2 months old, well 11 weeks and one day to be exact! He is growing so fast, he is already 13lbs. He can hold his head up and put weight on his legs. He also found his hands and tries to stuff as many fingers into his mouth as he can! He loves to play with his tongue and make the most adorable sounds. He is just perfect, he's even sleeping through most nights! Also, for those of you who don't know, in just 10 more school days, I will be a full time mommy but who's counting! I'm so glad that I will be able to be with Bentley all day and I feel so blessed to have such a loving and supportive husband who is working his butt off so that I can! Well anyway, I could go on and on about how perfect my kid is but I'm trying not to be that mom ;) so here are some pictures!

A Very Thankful Thanksgiving

We had so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! last year Ryan and I both wished on the wish bone for a baby and this Thanksgiving we got to celebrate that wonderful miracle! What we thought was going to be a very relaxing Thanksgiving, just the three of us turned into a busy day with family! We did breakfast at the in-laws, dinner just the three of us at our house, and dessert at my parents!

Last year, secretly wishing for Bentley

Ryan and I always said that when we did our own we were going to do turkey sandwiches because that was our favorite part about Thanksgiving, so this year we did it!
